Rose Farm

Rose Farm

Local Somerset Food Producer Rose Farm has won a prestigious Great Taste Award for it's Red Pepper & Smoked Paprika Relish. This award is seen as the benchmark for fine food in the UK. Products have to go through a three-stage judging process; shortlisting, second round judging at the Guild of Fine Food headquarters in Wincanton and then the final round judging in London before presentation at London's Speciality and Fine Food Fair.

Rose Farm was set up by Richard Wills in 1988 and is still a family company, with Richard as MD and his daughter Charlotte as Marketing Director. Charlotte says " We are very proud to have won this award, it's an honour for us and a great opportunity to put Rose Farm and Somerset Food on the country's food map."

Red pepper and smoked paprika relish has a sweet hickory taste and is lovely simply served with cold meats or to add richness to a goat's cheese tart. For an international flavour we spread it over a wheat tortilla which we then placed dry side down in a hot un-greased frying pan, before sprinkling over grated cheddar cheese and Somerset ham and finally topping with another tortilla. Delicious baked on each side for a couple of moments and then cut into triangles, stacked and served with a fresh green salad.

Many of Rose Farm's recipes are unique local and family recipes. Harvest Chutney, the most popular chutney is Richards's mother-in-law's recipe, now a registered Trade Mark of Rose Farm. All of the products are made by hand in Cocklake, near Wedmore, using the traditional open pan method. Many local ingredients are used, including cider from Wilkins Cider in Wedmore, used in Mustard with Somerset Cider and Tomato & Somerset Cider Pickle.

Rose Farm produces a huge range of over 100 different products, including traditional chutneys, pickles, marinades and marmalades. We haven't managed to try them all yet, so why not tell us which is your favourite

Customers range from traditional butchers and farm shops to delis, pubs, restaurants, garden centres and gift shops.
