Discover the secrets of Somerset's artisan producers

Somerset is of course home to some of the finest food in the country and we have more than our fair share of artisan producers.  Now, through those producers and through a network of skilled tutors, you can discover those skills for yourself.

Artisan Skills South West is a new organisation offering a range of artisan food experiences at cookery schools and specialist food producers around Somerset and the South West.  If you're looking for a tasty way to spend your time in South West England, the Artisan Skills School offers a mouthwatering selection of courses and activities.  From breadmaking to chocolate heaven, and cupcakes to the art of smoking...everything on a plate.

Follow them on twitter @artisanskills to be the first to hear the news or log on to www.artisanskillschool.co.uk for listings of the latest courses available.

Andrew Moloney, heading up Artisan Southwest Skill School says, "We are so fortunate to have such a wide range of excellent cookery schools and producers here in Somerset and across the region.  By focusing on artisan skills we hope to bring that wonderful produce to the fore and encourage people to have a greater understanding of the region’s amazing food heritage.  Through the Artisan Skill School website it will be really easy for people to find their ideal course and to book it on the spot."

Go on – this is your chance to learn how to make traditional bread, fabulous chocolates, delightful cupcakes, and how to smoke fish, cure bacon…….
